Sound of Play

Sound of Play is an nostalgic soundscape exploring the shared experience of videogame play through sound. Formats have changed over the decades but the shared ritual of set up to play continues. Sound of Play explores various formats, from the early days of the arcade to the evolution of downloadable gaming. The steps preceding play are recorded and will accurately show how this process has changed over the last 40 years. Sound of Play features newly inspired demo sounds by Nathan McCree, who is best known for his compositions for the Tomb Raider franchise and many others spanning 25 years of games.

New Creatives was supported by Arts Council England and BBC Arts.
